Private Midwives

As a private midwife I provide personalised, continuity of care. Families can choose to have one off appointments, antenatal and postnatal care or a package of care that includes birth care. I care for women both in a home and hospital setting for birth. 

The benefit of private midwifery care is true continuity of care. You will have the same midwife for every appointment (very rare exceptions may apply), in the comfort of your own home, with time to discuss everything you want to.

Antenatal education is included with all packages.  

We also have our own women centred guidelines, that we are happy to share with you. We acknowledge that not all women fit all guidelines, so happily support women that want to choose options outside of traditional guidance by creating robust individualised care plans with no coercion involved. We will discuss all the evidence behind your options and respect the choices you make.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you only care for Christian women?

No I care for women of any faith or none. If you would like me to pray with you, or explore the role of faith in your maternity journey, I am happy to do so. If not I respect your wishes. Most of the women I care for are not Christians.

Are you allowed to be a Christian midwife?

Yes. The NMC (my regulating body) provide clarification on this. I follow this guidance.

Are you insured?

Absolutely! That's a large part of the cost of the packages. It is a legal requirement as a UK midwife to have insurance in order to provide birth support.

Do you work alone?

No, I have a fabulous team of midwives that support me to support you. Depending on your birth preferences, you might never meet them. But they are there for any eventuality or as a second midwife if you choose to have one at your homebirths.
